Bill joined Grimshaw in 1995 in London. He moved to the New York office in 2003 and became a Partner in 2010.
His early Grimshaw projects included the Berlin Stock Exchange , Manchester International Airport and the Eden Project in Cornwall, UK. Bill was a key designer of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center , St Louis, and the Miami Intermodal Center before joining the New York team for the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center . Subsequent work included Miami Science Museum and two buildings in Monterrey: Horno3 Museo del Acero and Cemex’s global data centre.
Bill is currently overseeing several projects in Doha, including the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority Headquarters at New Doha International Airport and a genetic research facility for childhood illnesses at the non-profit Shafallah Institute.
Bill is a deep and innovative thinker who loves to design. He brings to his projects conceptual ideas and technical solutions often influenced by precedents found in both the natural and the man-made worlds, and guided by an enduring interest in architectural history and design theory.
