Grimshaw is based in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. These locations integrate fully with our international operations and will be responsible for the growing number of Chinese projects.
Grimshaw was founded in London in 1980 by Sir Nicholas Grimshaw. There are 20 partners and over 650 staff, more than 50 nationalities are represented across our global practice.
Today, the practice operates studios in Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Dubai, Melbourne and Sydney with offices in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Auckland.
Each of Grimshaw’s studios provides a full range of research and development, architecture, industrial design and master planning services. Our collaborators are encouraged to contribute to projects which cross international boundaries and the exchange of ideas and expertise is fundamental to our approach.
Our local studios manage projects undertaken in their host country with the full support of our networked practice and partners. In each of our studios we also offer our specialist services which include Design Technology, Design for Manufacture and Assembly, Design Imaging & Visualisation, Visual Communication and Model Making.
The basis of the firm is discussion and commu-nication and interest in what each other are doing. We do architecture for clients, but it’s also for people. Our buildings always convey some kind of purpose — and then some kind of joy.
